Our Story

So after much deliberation, thought and prayer, together between mother Sandy and daughter Carrissa, Tranquility Healing Balms and Creams was born. 

Tranquility Healing Balms and Creams is a family business that came out of the love of a  Nana for her Mokopuna (grandchildren), who all suffered from eczema in their early years. They had been to specialists needing very expensive steroid based creams that could only be used sparingly for a limited amount of time. Each of the creams would eventually be of no use as the children became immune to the steroid, therefore, needing something stronger, and more toxic.

Not Nan or I could accept this, knowing that steroid creams are not good for skin, let alone for young children. Having used kawakawa for healing things in our whanau over the years, this is where we decided to focus and after a period of time critiquing the perfect balance, our Kawakawa Healing Balm was born.  Little did we know what we'd started, what in fact was created was Tranquility Healing Balms & Creams and we didn't even know it.

For years, we had been using with the children and it was outstanding in maintaining their eczema.  Their kindy had noticed the change and clear up, and asked what we'd done, telling them about the balm.  They asked us to make some for them to use on some of the other children who had other conditions, and their parents noticed the difference.  Of course it didn't end there. Slowly, but surely, more products were born purely for the use of helping family and friends in need.  As more people used the balms and creams for their relative and differing conditions, they saw how miraculous our kawakawa products are, before too long more and more people wanted to source these products. It was clear to see that there were so many people, young and old, near and far, who wanted to be free irritating skin conditions like Psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema and the like.
